Music Insights Launches within YouTube for Artists

The newest update for YouTube for Artists is the Music Insights tool. It is the latest move by YouTube to help increase musicians’ profits using its platform. The new tool is all about analytics. It is designed for YouTubers who are musical artists currently on YouTube for Artists, which began in March of this year, to use stay current on statistics relating to their fans. The stats are taken from around the world.

Music Insights will combine the views from a range of sources, regardless of whether they are fan-uploaded or official. The views, taken via Content ID, will date back to September 2014. As it collects stats from cities across the globe, musicians will be able to tell where their largest fan bases lay geographically.

These YouTube stats details could help a band or singer figure out where they would be most effective traveling to on a tour or for autograph signings. For example, it would be better to visit a city where you get several views, as that is indicative of having more fans in that location.

As well, a musician can encourage a radio show to play their song by showing them how big it is on YouTube for Artists. It uses the power of the fan base to help musical artists get more traction in their careers.
The platform also helps bring popular music more easily to the fans who want to hear it the most. It strengthens the relationship between fans and musicians too, which is important as fans are the ones who buy and support the artists’ work to keep their career successful.

Currently, there are about 10,000 of the most talked-about musicians on YouTube for Artists. In the future, YouTube will open it up to others to create accounts. In its current version, the platform is accessible in 22 languages.
